DMX almost lost his life on Monday, January 8, according to TMZ.
Police were called to a Ramada Inn in
Yonkers, New York when the 45-year old rapper reportedly stopped
breathing and had no pulse. Cops were able to bring his pulse back after
a minute of CPR.
He was then given Narcan, a drug used
for the complete or partial reversal of opioid overdose, including
respiratory depression. X became semi-conscious and was taken to a
hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Dark Man's camp says he suffered an
asthma attack, but a witness told police that he had ingested "some sort
of powder" before losing consciousness.
X, real name Earl Simmons, has had a long battle with drug addiction.
